URGENT!!! - Don't lose out on your full commissions
It has been brought to our attention that some of our agents are either faxing or mailing their applications direct to UnitedHealthcare…. you are in jeopardy of losing $40.00 per application (thousands of dollars)!
If you are submitting business incorrectly , you will lose a portion of your hard earned commissions (see attached commission addendum). All agents should only submit business 2 ways (Do NOT use the enclosed envelope in the application kits):
- Fax to their upline or fax direct to Brokers Assistance 303-996-6228 (NEVER fax to UnitedHealthcare).
- I-enroll on their laptops with a signature pad.
Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter,
CMS Broker Event Template and Process Enhancements
In order to make our Sales Event Reporting Template easier for agents to use, we have made improvements to clarify the types of events. We believe this will make it easier for sales agents to comply with the new CMS reporting requirements. (Please note: If you have already submitted Sales Events using the old template, you DO NOT need to resubmit.)
Reminder and Clarification of New CMS Guidelines:
1. FMO down-line agents must enter and report upcoming Sales Events by the 20th of the month, one month prior to the meeting date and/or as events are scheduled throughout the current month.
2. FMO owners are no longer responsible for reporting Sales Events on behalf of their down-line agents.
3. Agents must enter their own contact information as the event contact person within the CMS Sales Event Template. The FMO owner or the Producer Help Desk (PHD) representative cannot be the individual listed as the event contact.
4. Agents must contact the PHD at (888) 381-8581 (7-10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. - 7p.m. CT Monday-Friday) to make changes to Sales Events (i.e., cancellations, updates and edits). All changes must be reported at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled event.
Agents who fail to cancel a scheduled event within 48 hours must contact their direct supervisor/manager immediately in order to have another agent attend the event.
5. Agents must indicate if a sales event is Formal or Informal. A Formal Sales Event is a structured individual/group meeting where an agent presents specific plan information. An Informal Sales Event is a less structured event like a retail booth, kiosk, table or food banks where an agent can discuss plan information when approached by a consumer.
CMS and UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company require agents to respond in accordance with this deadline. Agents who do not submit timely and accurate event information will be at risk for corrective action which may include up to termination and/or cancellation of an agent's contract.

Glitch with PDP Apps Submitted Online During October
It has come to our attention that there was a glitch in the UnitedHealthCare online submission process for PDPs entered on the website from October 1 through October 16, 2009. Although you received a confirmation, these apps were not processed. It is imperitive that you check the www.unitedhealthproducers.com portal to see if the business is visible. If it is not, PLEASE RE-ENTER IMMEDIATELY. This affects AARP Rx plans as well as UnitedHealth Rx, and includes business entered on the www.unitedhealthproducers.com portal, as well as the consumer websites (www.unitedhealthrx.com and www.aarpmedicarerx.com). If your business was submitted through us, we are following up here and are re-entering the business for you. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Cold Calling Solicitations
Through new CMS MIPPA guidelines, there are strict regulations in relation to cold calling when marketing Medicare Advantage and/or Prescription Drug Plan products. This applies not only to insurance companies and their agents, but also to telemarketing companies and other third parties. UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions expects that all contracted and appointed sales agents who represent our MA and/or PDP products will adhere to this regulation. See the attached newsletter and Dos and Don'ts document for more guidance.
